We present Vasya Popova, who is part of our jury in the Vocal Category.
Vasya Popova was born in Stara Zagora, but grew up in Kardzhali. She has been declaring her musical talent since she was a child, and the beginning of her musical career began in 1999, when she participated in the popular music show for talented children „Like Lions“ on BNT.
The path of her stage development passes with piano lessons, solfeggio charity concerts and initiatives, as well as with her participation in the TV music show on BNT „Hit minus one“.An important part of building her artistic image is her participation as a vocalist and actress in the theater troupe of the theater- “Laboratory @lma@lter”, with which she reaped a number of successes and awards at festivals in Sarajevo – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cairo – Egypt, Zagreb – Croatia , Brno – Czech Republic and others.
In the period 2011 – 2016. Vasya develops active vocal and stage activities with a number of participations in:

– festivals „Supremacy of the Spirit“; „Art is …“; „Johnny Răducanu“ (Brani, Raducanu) – Braila, Romania; Youth Jazz Festival – Haskovo, Bulgaria; International Jazz Festival Bansko „- in Bansko, Bulgaria;“ GospelHolydays „, Zwickau, German);
In 2015 he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the National Academy of Music „Prof. Pancho Vladigerov ”, Sofia – specialty“ Pop and jazz singing ”in the class of Stefka Onikyan.
In the period 2011 – 2016. Vasya develops active vocal and stage activities with a number of participations in:

In Boston, she is an active vocalist in various projects, including Women Musicians Network, Paul Winter Consort and Paul Winter 23rd Summer Solstice Celebration, Metallica project, Metallica’s music, reorganized and performed. especially for the creation of contemporary choreography by the world-famous Otis Salid); „The Lotus sound project“ – soloist of the New England Folk Festival, Mansfield (USA) and „The Lotus Sound project“ – studio recording of the 1st album.

In 2018 Participates in „100 voices 1 heart“ – an international music project created by the famous Japanese singer Ayumi Ueda (Ayumi Ueda), aimed at peace. Vasya’s voice represents Bulgaria in the great compilation of cultures and musical specifics at the international level. Her success this year continues with recordings as backing vocals on the solo album of rising pop singer Jason Sibi-Okumu.
Her active professional activity is complemented by her participation in the choir „Pletenitsa“, with which they conquered a number of stages and made a studio recording of the first album. It is with the Choir „Braid“ that Vasya is included in the soundtrack of „Game of Thrones“, arranged and presented during the Gala concert in honor of the composer Ramin Djawadi (Ramin Javadi). The choir has repeatedly participated in the Middle Eastern Festival, along with the internationally acclaimed Tigran Hamasyan, Vadim Nesselovski and Amira Medunyanin.
In 2019 returned to Bulgaria and the same year was a soloist at a Christmas concert with the Junior Brass Band in Veliko Tarnovo.

Представяме ви Вася Попова, която е част от нашето жури в Категория Вокал.

Вася Попова е родена в Стара Загора, но израства в Кърджали. От малка заявява своя музикален талант, а стартът на музикалната ѝ кариера започва през 1999г, когато участва в популярното музикално предаване за изява на талантливи деца „Като лъвовете“ по БНТ.

Пътят на нейното сценично развитие преминава с уроци по пиано, солфеж благотворителни концерти и инициативи, както и с участието ѝ в телевизионното музикално предаване по БНТ „Хит минус едно“.

Важна част от изграждането на нейния артистичен образ има участието ѝ като вокалист и актриса в театрална трупа на театър-лаборатория @lma@lter, с която жънат редица успехи и награди на фестивали в Сараево – Босна и Херцеговина, Кайро – Египет, Загреб – Хърватия, Бърно – Чехия и др.

През 2015 г. завършва бакалавърска степен в НМА „Проф. Панчо Владигеров“, София – специалност „Поп и джаз пеене“ в класа на Стефка Оникян.

В периода 2011 – 2016г. Вася развива активна вокално – сценична дейност с редица участия във:

– фестивали ( „Надмощие на духа“; „Изкуството е…“ ; „Johnny Răducanu” (Джони Радукану) – Braila, Romania; Младежки джаз фестивал – Хасково, България; Международен джаз фестивал Банско“ – в Банско, България; „GospelHolydays“, Zwickau, Germanу);

– колаборации („Младите в джаза“; „JazzStandArtsEnsemble“ – джаз проект, дължащ се на партньорството между България и Нидерландия) с изтъкнати български джаз музиканти като Венцислав Благоев, Теодор Петков – Тото, Виктор Бенев, Димитър Шанов, Тодор Бакърджиев, Станислав Арабаджиев, Димитър Горчаков, Димитър Благоев, Станимир Ламбов и др.);

– роли в Национален музикален театър и Младежки театър „Николай Бинев“ (Mabel Washington в мюзикъла „Fame“ и г-ца Шнайдер в мюзикъла „Кабаре“);

– „Tamara Voices“ – вокален ансамбъл за джаз и съвременна музика.

През 2013г. Вася е финалист в музикалното телевизионно шоу „Гласът на България“ (BTV), а публиката я разпознава и като солист на бенда на „Шоуто на Канала“ (БНТ) в периода 2015 – 2016г.

През 2016г. е приета със стипендия в престижния Berklee College of Music, Бостън, САЩ със специалност „Songwriting & Performance“ , където придобива допълнителна квалификация.

В Бостън тя активно се изявява като вокалист в различни проекти, част от които са: „Women Musicians Network”, „Paul Winter Consort“ и „Paul Winter 23rd Summer Solstice Celebration“ , „Metallica project“ (музиката на Metallica, реаранжирана и изпълнена специално за създаването на съвременна хореография от световноизвестния Otis Salid); „The Lotus sound project“ – солист на New England Folk Festival, Mansfield (USA) и „The Lotus Sound project“ – студиен запис на 1-ви албум.

През 2018г. участва в „100 voices 1 heart“ (100 гласа – 1 сърце) – международен музикален проект, създаден от известната японска певица Ayumi Ueda (Аюми Уеда), насочен към мира. Гласът на Вася представя България в голямата компилация от култури и музикални специфики на международно ниво. Успехите ѝ през тази година продължават със записи като беквокал в соловия албум на изгряващия поп изпълнител Jason Sibi-Okumu.

Активната ѝ професионална дейност се допълва от нейното участие в хор „Плетеница“, с които покоряват редица сцени и осъществяват студиен запис на първи албум. Именно с хор „Плетеница“ Вася е включена в саундтрака на „Game of thrones“, аранжиран и представен по време на Гала концерт в чест и пред самия композитор Ramin Djawadi (Рамин Джавади). Неколкратно хорът участва в Middle Eastern Festival, редом с международно признатите Tigran Hamasyan, Vadim Nesselovski и Amira Medunyanin.

През 2019г. се завръща в България и същата година е солист на Коледен концерт с Junior Brass Band във Велико Търново.

Последната година и половина Вася Попова активно работи върху музиката от първия си самостоятелен албум.
